2008 RNA CONTESTS
The 2008 contest chairperson, Yonat Shimron of The (Raleigh, N.C.) News & Observer, will contact the winners individually by July 1. They will be announced to the public at the 2008 RNA Annual Conference Awards Banquet Sept. 20 in Washington, D.C.
Make plans to be in Washington, D.C., Sept. 18–21, for the 59th RNA Annual Conference. Get a glimpse of the tentative 2008 conference schedule, now posted online. Pre-conference programming this year begins on Wed., Sept. 17, with a day-long seminar on covering Islam (extra $35 fee). It continues Thursday morning, Sept. 18, with a half-day session on multimedia (extra $10 fee). Space is limited for both programs and advance registration is required. Funding for these sessions is being provided by The Henry Luce Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Regular conference programming begins at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, with a sponsored lunch. Can't-miss sessions this year include:
