Some 4,500 religion scholars will convene Nov. 7–10 in Montréal, Québec, for the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion. This year’s program includes sessions on 375 topics, including Islam and modernity; religion and the economy; globalization and poverty; politics; religion and sports; atheism and secularism, among others.
